The B.T.K. Killer

The B.T.K.Killer murdered ten people in Wichita,Kansas between the years 1974 and 1991 .
After a long hiatus in the 1990's through the early part of the 2000's which lead to his arrest and subsequent conviction.


The abbreviation B.T.K means Bind ,Torture,Kill.
The killers real name is Dennis Rader.
Rader was born in March 9,1945 in Pittsburgh, Kansas.
As a child Rader according to several reports including his own confessions that he was a kid who tortured small animals. Rader also had a sexual fetish for women's underwear.

 

 

In his adult life Rader had a position with the city as a compliance officer. This position gave Rader the power to enforce animal and property laws in his area. 
Neighbors remember him being very strict. One neighbor especially complained that he euthanized her dog for no reason.

Dennis Rader was also an elder at his church Christ Lutheran Church where he was an elected president of the church council.

Like many serial killers The B.T.K. Killer sent the police and media taunting letters with clues that he was the killer. 
In the early 2000's when he began to resurface Rader mistakenly used a printer from his church to write the last taunting letter to authorities and the press .

By doing this the police were able to track down the signature of the printer . Which lead to Dennis Rader's capture.

Dennis Rader is now concurrently serving ten life sentences at El Dorado Correctional Facility in Kansas.
