Netflix has a new series on the way that you might like!
Begining this May (2018), Netflix has a post-apocalyptic series, called The Rain, coming out. The Rain is a Danish original series and marks Netflix's first Danish production. Now, I have to admit, I've not heard anything about The Rain, until now. I happen to trip over the news about the show, which is why I'm sharing it with you. Here's what I could dig up on it so far.
The Rain is an eight-episode series that's rated TV-MA. The series was co-created by Jannik Tai Mosholt, Esben Toft, and Christian Potalivo. Some of the cast members are Alba August, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Lars Simonsen, Iben Hjejle, Johannes Kuhnke, Angela Bundalovic, Sonny Lindberg, Jessica Dinnage and Lukas Løkken.
Here's the synopsis: “The Rain picks up six years after a brutal virus carried by rain wiped out almost all humans in Scandinavia, and follows two Danish siblings as they emerge from the safety of their bunker to find all remnants of civilization gone and very few survivors. Set free from their collective past and societal rules, the group set out on a danger-filled quest through abandoned Scandinavia, searching for any sign of life. However, the task is complicated when tensions in the group start to rise as the rain pours in."
With the whole virus in the rain, post-apocalyptic dangers, it kind of sounds like it'll be a survival story like The Walking Dead, minus the zombies. You have some survivors, they do a bunch of walking to find... a new... home? Life? Saftey? All apply I guess. Either way, my attention span tends to fail me with shows like this, but who knows, it could be cool. If you're curious then don't forget to hit Netflix May 4th and check out The Rain.
